Kara came to Boise State in 2000 from a nationally ranked Service-Learning program at the University of Utah. She brings over fifteen years of experience consulting with faculty, students, and community agencies. Kara earned her bachelor’s degree from Macalester College in Minnesota and her master’s degree in Communication from the University of Utah.

Duties: Community Partnerships, Community Work-study management, Logistical systems management
Mike has worked for the Service-Learning program for over 5 years in student support and now (Summer 2018) takes his skills in developing partnerships. Before Boise State, Mike managed Plant and Fire programs for the Student Conservation Association across the country after completing his M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Washington. Previous to working in the education field, Mike studied the effects of fire on plant communities across the western landscape for a variety government agencies. Mike is a daily bike commuter, community organizer, and outdoor enthusiast.

Corrie began studying at Boise State in 2014 and earned her bachelor's degree in communication. She is now working toward her master's degree in public administration. As an undergraduate student Corrie worked with the Student Involvement and Leadership Center to create programs that enriched student life on campus. She is excited to continue working at Boise State with the Service-Learning Program and connecting what students are learning in the classroom to service opportunities in the community.

Hayley is currently working towards her Master’s Degree in Social Work. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English from University of California, Berkeley. She comes to Boise State after years of tutoring, mentoring, and recruiting, experiences which aid her in connecting work-study students to quality positions with local community partners.

Eric is currently a sophomore at Boise State University and is working towards his bachelor's degree in Social Work and Sociology. He joined the Service-Learning Department because he wanted to work with students, faculty, and community partners in ensuring the success and growth of not only a student's academic self but as well as their own individual leadership.

Duties: Help students understand service learning concepts, procedures, and requirements. Support students in SL placement, orientation, troubleshooting, and maximizing learning. Responding to students’ phone and email questions. Help facilitate class discussion on service issues.
Bio: Ashley is currently a sophomore at Boise State University and is working towards a B.A in Social Work. She is passionate about her work making a difference in helping people function the best way they can in their environment. She joined the service-learning department to help her fellow students gain experience in their course of study by connecting them to organizations within the community.
