Kara came to Boise State in 2000 from a nationally ranked Service-Learning program at the University of Utah. She brings over fifteen years of experience consulting with faculty, students, and community agencies. Kara earned her bachelor’s degree from Macalester College in Minnesota and her master’s degree in Communication from the University of Utah.

Mike comes to Boise State after managing programs for the Student Conservation Association for 3 years. Mike earned a B.S. from Northern Michigan University and a M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Washington.

Anna joins the Service-Learning Program after three years of instruction in Boise State’s Foundational Studies Program and for the Department of History. She concurrently teaches University Foundations 200 in addition to her role in Service-Learning. Anna earned a PhD in American History from the University of Washington.

Duties: Serve as liaison among students, faculty, community partners, and SL staff. Help students understand Service-Learning (SL) concepts, procedures, and requirements. Support students in SL placement, orientation, troubleshooting, and maximizing learning.
Melodie is currently a junior at Boise State University, working toward a B.A. in Education. She has joined the Service-Learning department with the goal of making a positive contribution to the student community of Boise State University, helping students connect with their community, and providing awareness to community needs.

Melinda is currently working on her Masters in Public Administration and Non-Profit Management, she holds a Bachelors degree in Communication and Public Relations. She enjoys engaging students in community based work-study positions, helping them grow and learn about civic responsibility, while serving her community through the partnerships.
